Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the VCFAPI service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Credits and Usage

VCFAPI operates on two balance types: credits (20 free credits granted on account creation, non-refundable and non-transferable) and subscription quota (monthly API call allocation included with your plan). Each successful API call deducts one unit from your subscription quota; when the quota is exhausted, additional calls will automatically consume credit. Once both the quota and credits are fully depleted, further calls are available through overage billing if enabled.

3. Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal

Monthly subscription plans (Starter, Pro, Scale) renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. When a plan renews, your available quota for the new period is the fresh monthly allocation plus any rolled-over balance from the previous period (capped at 1x your plan quota). Payment and billing are handled entirely by Polar.sh; we do not store your card details.

4. Cancellation

When you cancel, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period; your remaining quota is automatically converted to call credits and your credit balance is preserved for use if you resubscribe. Overage billing is disabled on cancellation.

5. Pricing Changes

We may update subscription pricing from time to time. Price changes will not apply to your current billing period. We will notify you at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and you may cancel before the new pricing applies if you do not accept the revised pricing.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, including attempting to bypass rate limits, reselling API access without authorization, or using the service for unlawful purposes. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Verification of Results

VCFAPI implements the ASTM D1250-04 / API MPMS Chapter 11.1-2004 methodology. All calculations are provided "as is", without warranty of accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

You are responsible for independently verifying the suitability and accuracy of the results before using them for operational, commercial, regulatory, custody-transfer, or other critical purposes. This service is a convenience tool — not a certified substitute for the official standard documentation or for professional judgment.

Any use of the service, including any decision made from its output, is at your own risk and your own responsibility. VCFAPI shall not be liable for incorrect results or for any consequence of acting on them.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VCFAPI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable laws, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
